1. I have deleted a file/ folder today by mistake. It is not in the Recycle Bin also. Can I get the data back?
Yes. Data that is deleted and removed from Recycle Bin also can be recovered by professional hands like MORE Computers. But the “Recoverability” depends on the amount of data written to your hard drive after the deletion process. Kindly switch off the machine and do not turn it on again. Send the drive to MORE Computers for a Professional Data Recovery Service.

2. My Notebook computer is showing an error message “Un-mountable boot volume” in a blue screen and restarting itself. Are there any chances to get my data back?
As per Microsoft Documentation, such an error message means “The file system is damaged and cannot be mounted”. Apparently, if a working machine or laptop shows this error message a fine morning, it appears that the hard drive has failed to mount. In fact, such a message is considered as a general one when the machine can’t find/ access the necessary files to mount the drive and boot to Operating system. This could be because of a File system boot sector failure; more likely due to a physical damage with the drive itself. At all of these cases a professional Data recovery service is advisable than risking your data while attempting to repair the boot sector by Recovery Console or CHKDSK.

3. My hard disk is making strange noises and no longer recognized by my system BIOS.
Any type of unusual noises generally indicates there are structural damages with the hard disk. You may hear grinding (click here to play) or hard drive clicking (click here to play) noises. If you experience such noise ever, you should immediately power off the drive/ machine to stop the hard disk from functioning in its failing state. Approach MORE Computers to get your data recovered from it before it is too late.

4. What is the difference between Logical and Physical recoveries?
Logical data recovery is considered when there is nothing physically wrong with a hard drive. Drives with corrupted data files, corrupted or deleted partitions, deleted files/ folders or a formatted hard disk etc come under this category. Physical data recovery is performed when there is physical damage to the drive components of a hard disk. Notable symptoms of such failures include burnt controller boards, clicking noises etc. Generally, most drives that are not detected by system BIOS fall under this category. There are jobs which we call Hybrid Recovery cases where a Logical failure is made worse by the Physical problems existing in the drive (or vice versa).

5. My Hard drive is not accessible. Can I use downloadable data recovery utilities?
If you use data recovery utilities on a potentially corrupted drive it will put your data at risk. The utility will assume that your drive is in good working order both mechanically and electrically and may try to fix things that may not be the actual problem. Sometimes erroneous utilities combined with human errors can compound problems in the subject drive.

6. What is a data recovery clean room?
A clean room is a highly sterile and clean protected room that is used for the certain physical recovery of data. It operates at specific temperatures and humidity required to maintain the air quality needed when opening a hard disk. Clean rooms used by some data recovery companies are classified as Class 100 because they function with less than 100 particles larger than 0.5 microns per cubic foot of air. A clean room is a necessity for certain data recovery jobs, but such jobs become so expensive due to the higher cost of owning and maintaining one.

7. I am basically a Computer Engineer. Can I attempt data recovery myself?
There is specialization in every field. It is always worth leaving the job to professionals. Especially, hard drive is the most complex and delicate device ever used in a PC/ Laptop, which amalgamates complex micro electronics with precise electromechanical components and embedded programs fine tuned to produce maximum capacity and speed per available size. Hence, when a drive crash occurs the best option is to consult specialists in the field where experience and R&D are crucial, no matter how experienced you are with computers.

8. I read in an internet page that “keeping a hard drive in the Freezer can bring it to working condition”. Is it true?
If you really care about the data stored in your hard drive, do not attempt anything stupid like this. Every hard drive is fabricated with a “Breathing hole” that keeps the drive internals at same atmospheric pressure as outside. If you freeze the drive, condensation can occur and it actually damages the drive platters and thin film components inside the drive including head and preamplifiers. This is actually a myth derived under the failures associated with Metal platters (related with temperature coefficient of expansion) used in hard drives decades ago and following it can cause permanent data loss.

9. I need Professional Data Recovery. How can I send my drive to MORE Computers?
Now that you’ve made sure that the drive has failed and you need expert help to get the data recovered from it. Here is what can do.
