Being the First and the Number One in Data Recovery Services in the Middle East since our inception in 2001 we are well experienced in recovering data from Electro Mechanical problems, (Physical - like noisy drives, drives not detected in BIOS etc), Logical failures (File system level - like deleted files/ folders/ partitions etc) or a hybrid of these problems.
Data Recovery is the process of salvaging data from damaged, failed, corrupted, or inaccessible secondary storage media when it cannot be accessed normally. Often the data are being salvaged from storage media formats such as hard disk drives, Flash Memory cards, Solid State memory Devices, CDs, DVDs, RAID, and other electronics. Recovery may be required due to physical damage to the storage device or logical damage to the file system that prevents it from being mounted by the host operating system. There are Hybrid cases where a partial Physical failure with the drive resulted in a File system corruption as well.

How to protect your data?
Hence, it is always good to adopt few safety measures while handling valuable data.
- Always backup your data and test the backups frequently.
- Never attempt any operation, like installations or repairs, with which you don't have experience.
- Avoid moving your computer, especially when it is powered – it can result in severe mechanical damage to the hard drive.
- Protect electrical components by using computers in a dry, shaded, dust-free area.
- Protect against power surges with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
- Do not shake or remove the covers on hard drives or tapes.
- Store tested backups in an off-site location.
- Be aware of strange noises. If you hear an unusual noise from your Hard drive, turn off immediately and seek professional recovery service.
- Always handle/ store your storage media ESD protected.
To avoid data loss due to Logical failures, always:
- Use a good anti-virus package and update its definitions regularly.
- Obtain software from trusted sources only.
- Scan all incoming data, including packaged software, for viruses.
- Use a personal firewall to prevent attacks from hackers and malicious Trojans.
- Always shut down your PC before the power is turned off.
I´ve lost my data. Now What?
Once you realize a data loss has occurred, send in your drive to our lab (Read Do´s and Don´ts before you ship the item). After receiving your drive, our expert engineers will complete an evaluation and provide you with the complete directory listing of the data that can be recovered. Once the recovery is complete, we can either make a clone image of the defective drive to a new one or return the data in the storage media you prefer.
"Do´s" and "Don´ts" during a data loss
When a document is lost (either logically or physically), it is not actually "gone" but became temporarily inaccessible. A professional Data Recovery Company like MORE Computers can get your data back if you take few precautions, during a data loss.
- Power off immediately: -In all instances, this is the recommended course of action. If there is no power to the drive no further data loss can occur.
- Don't restart the machine: - Restarting and trying to boot from a machine that has a damaged disk can often compound the data loss.
- No Commercial software can perform data recovery on a physically damaged hard drive. Hence, hard drives with any sign of physical malfunction such as noise, heat, or inability to boot should immediately be turned off to avoid further damage.
- Never install any software on the same drive as the missing/ deleted files, as they may be overwritten.
- Never use/install any Disk Repair or Data recovery utility on a drive containing data.
- Don´t take chances: - Never let an amateur touch the drive. Data recovery is a specialization. Any bad attempt can make your "temporarily inaccessible" data "lost forever". So, leave the recovery job to professionals.
- Send the drive to MORE Computers: - as soon as possible, in proper Anti static packing.
What happens to your drive at MORE?
At MORE Computers, the subject drive goes through a professionally planned and phased lifecycle as illustrated below.
i) Diagnosis/ Drive Restoration : - During this phase, we diagnose & repair (for the sake of recovering the data) drives that are not responding, or that appear functional but produce useless data
ii) Imaging/ Logical recovery: - Once the drive is made accessible, we image it to minimize further damages to original media. Once we image the drive successfully, we send the quote and file listing to the customer after calculating the man-hours needed to fulfill the recovery.
iii) Integrity Check/ Quality Control: - In this phase, recoverable files are checked for integrity using automated processes to ensure that they are good and in readable condition
iv) Financials / Delivery: - Once the quote is approved by the customer, the data is returned to the user in a media of their choice.
